We met through friends, at a wedding; I caught the bouquet, turned around and there was John.  Absolutely Not!   We are real people and like most, struggled to meet the right person and after many life experiences (alone and with others), we finally met in Chicago’s Gold Coast (where we are based), at a place we both frequented for years!  One of us wasn’t even supposed to be in town that night and just happened to drop by the neighborhood venue where we met.  With time, care, understanding, patience (for sure, patience!)…love came.  When I look at him, I see love.  Ok, Ok, enough!

After about three years together, we started thinking about changing our lives.  To do so, we thought about the times earlier in life when we were happiest.  For me, it was when I lived in Italy (with France a close second).  For most of my life, I have always travelled the world and loved it.  I practiced international and technology law and worked mostly in corporate America.  Throughout my life, I had the luck of living in many foreign countries and became fluent in Italian and French.  For John, after having served in the US military, stationed in Germany, it was when he was travelling all over Europe, exploring and learning about new cultures.   Later, he would become a director of IT at a major US corporation which afforded him the opportunity to continue to expand his world-wide travels.

Together, we decided it was time to pursue our greatest passion—travel—and share it with everyone and anyone who loves to travel.  We started A Toast to Travel to share our love of travel and living well with others (You!).  We are in a phase of life where having exceptional experiences, shared with others, is our mission.  We want our guests to enjoy life like we do.
